Sonia is a compassionate support worker with 10+ years of experience across aged care and disability, including ID, ASD, and mental health. She’s inclusive, studying her Certificate IV in Youth Work, and loves spending time with her family, her dog Gus, and sewing.

Sonia brings over 10 years of experience in support roles, beginning her career in aged care before moving into disability support. Throughout this time, she has developed extensive experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disability (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mental health challenges, dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and people who are non-ambulant. Her broad skill set and calm, empathetic approach allow her to support people with diverse and complex needs.

Sonia is currently studying a Certificate IV in Youth Work to further expand her knowledge and continue making a positive difference in the lives of others. She is passionate about helping people feel valued, supported, and understood, and she takes pride in being able to brighten someone’s day.

Sonia is an inclusive and welcoming support worker who is accepting and respectful of the LGBTQIA+ community, ensuring every person she supports feels safe and affirmed.

Outside of work, Sonia loves spending time with her family—especially when her grandsons come to stay. She also enjoys catching up with the people closest to her, relaxing at home with her Rottweiler, Gus, and sewing whenever she gets the chance.
