Mentor / Support Worker

Sonia is a highly experienced and respected support worker with over five years of dedicated service in the disability and mental health sectors. She has supported individuals from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of needs, bringing a calm, respectful, and proactive approach to her work.

Throughout her career, Sonia has worked closely with individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Tourette Syndrome, ADHD, Schizophrenia, and various mental health conditions. Her deep understanding of complex behavioural needs allows her to deliver high-quality, person-centred support that promotes choice, independence, and emotional wellbeing.

Sonia’s ability to build meaningful, trusting relationships is one of her greatest strengths. She takes the time to understand each individual’s goals, preferences, and communication style, tailoring her support to meet their unique needs. Whether she’s assisting with daily living activities, facilitating community participation, or providing emotional encouragement, Sonia empowers participants to live confidently and authentically.

As a strong advocate for inclusion, Sonia is welcoming and accepting of all individuals, including those within the LGBTIQA+ community. She is deeply committed to creating safe, affirming, and respectful environments where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported without judgment.

Outside of work, Sonia leads an active and family-oriented lifestyle. She treasures spending time with her loved ones and enjoys helping them participate in social and community activities. Whether it’s attending local sporting events or planning inclusive family outings, Sonia values connection, belonging, and shared joy. She also loves spending time in nature, often hiking to unwind and find peace.
