Luke O’Connor

Mentor / Support Worker

With a background in Health Science and over three years of experience in Disability Employment Services, Luke brings extensive knowledge and a genuine passion for helping others to his role at Achieve Disability Services. Currently completing a Master of Occupational Therapy, Luke combines academic insight with hands-on experience to provide empathetic, person-centred support that empowers participants to achieve their goals.

Known for his calm, engaging, and dependable nature, Luke takes a direct yet compassionate approach to ensure the best possible outcomes for every participant. His patient and understanding manner enables him to build strong, trusting relationships with those he supports.

Luke has extensive experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Non-Verbal (NV) and Non-Ambulant (NA) needs, Paraplegia, Quadriplegia, Schizophrenia, Paranoia, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). He also has particular expertise in paediatric support, developed through hands-on experience with young participants during his recent rural placement allocations.

Outside of his professional role, Luke continues to expand his skills and knowledge through his postgraduate studies and his keen interest in functional health and rehabilitation. His ability to apply evidence-based practices with empathy and understanding ensures high-quality, individualised support for all participants.

Beyond work, Luke maintains a balanced and active lifestyle—enjoying time at the gym, playing guitar, and hosting slow-cooked charcoal barbecues for friends and family. His grounded personality, dedication to growth, and genuine care for others make him a highly valued member of the Achieve Disability Services team.
